The Angkor Community Fund is a Cambodian non-government organization, non political and non partisan. ACF was established by a group of young (and not so young) volunteers in 2011, with the support of students from local universities in Siem Reap.
We learned the "tricks" of the development working for international donors and other large Cambodian organizations. We have experience in environmental conservation, sustainable development, small business support in rural areas, household savings and loans, and public health. One day, we had enough of writing reports, planning for plans that never get implemented, and raising awareness at workshops held in nice hotels.... So we set up the Angkor Community Fund so that we could help Cambodian villagers overcome abject poverty. It is hard to live on less than two dollars a day. |
